The Natural Deodorant Hunt

Hey everyone!

Summer is nearly here and you know what that means... it's time for lots of sweaty outdoor activities, sports, and fun! I figured now would be a great time to update you on my quest to find NATURAL deodorants that ACTUALLY work! In this post I will be reviewing three top natural deodorants that do not contain (as the David Suzuki Foundation has labeled them) any of the "Dirty Dozen" chemicals. For more information on these chemicals click here:

Laser Hair Removal

Now for all you ladies or gents who hate waxing (or shaving) and are constantly paying loads of money for it..this could be a great, cheaper alternitive for your hair removal needs. I had my first experience with laser hair removal last week and I was so scared as I had heard so many terrible things about it being painful and what not. But after my sisters successful laser hair removal treatments (now on her fourth) I decided to give it a try! It was barley painful!! Now this all depends on what type of lazer you are using..and I guess on your pain tolerance as well and where on your body you are getting it done. For me, it was not painful, slightly uncomfortable at times yes, but WAY less painful than waxing which I find to be the worst thing ever lol. This "painless" laser which several people I know have used have said it didnt hurt them very much. This laser is called "The Soprano" which is the newest on the market that I know of. It is also good for dark skin. Also make sure you find a laser clinic who uses a good technique, and not the PULSING technique hurts ALOT! Now obvi all clinics very in price but I get mine done by a nurse and all six treatments(you need 6-10 for basically permenant hair removal) are costing me around $526 dollars! Which will save you loads of money on waxing for the rest of your life, or the hassel of shaving (and razors add up).The sensation of being lasered lol feels like warmth on your body, and sometimes like a warm elastic band. Anyways, wanted to write this post because I am so happy with it, and the results! Best decision! If you have any questions write in the comment box and I'll be happy to answer..BTW lazer is not just for girls..GUYS too..not forgetting you my "hiscoconuters" ;)

LASHES ON A BUDGET

By: Vanessa

So I was watching “Till Debt Due Us Part” the other night and one of the girls was spending A LOT of money on beauty/makeup each month over her budget.  She was spending $40 dollars a month on her lashes which she LOVED but could not afford to do. SO she was told no more lashes!

My Favorite Everyday Makeup PRODUCTS

By: Vanessa

"My LiPsTiCk BrInGs AlL tHe BoYs to The YaRd, Damn Right It's BetTer Than YouRs;)" haha

I’ve tried SOOO many makeup products...from doing my own and from acting on set and getting my makeup done by professional’s everyday. Here is a list of my faves, that compliment my skin, don’t make me to breakout and that I overall just love for my everyday makeup!

1. My %100 Pure Tinted Moisturizer- I am in love with this, it’s light gives a little coverage and gives you a brighter look! It’s organic, made from fruit pigments and does not clog my pores. It also has SPF 20.  I use the color “toffee” for my skin coloring.
Alternative: if being organic isn’t that important to you I also like Smashbox’s tinted moisturizer, I get color medium.

Andrea’s 10 Favorite Hair, Body and Skincare Products

By: Andrea

I wanted to share with you 10 products that I am currently obsessed with! This list is winter friendly. I have seen great results with these products (most of them are organic friendly, too)

1. CSI Amber Honey Exfoliating Scrub –I ordered this from Vitacost after reading all the rave reviews online. My skin is extremely dry and sensitive, therefore I am always skeptical when it comes to buying exfoliants as I find a lot of them tend to dry out my skin even more (causing my skin to to flake uncontrollably). I have been on the hunt for a perfect exfoliating scrub for a long time and I was particularly intrigued by this one after realizing it is made with honey (did any of you ever do honey face masks as a kid?). After looking up the scrub on the Cosmetic Database (ewg.org) and realizing it scored very well (Score: 1), I figured it was worth a shot. Boy was a pleased! This is by far the most nourishing scrub I have ever used on my face. It leaves your skin feeling polished and renewed (the same way you feel after getting a facial at a fancy spa). Oh, and this product smells fabulous… like a delicious dessert for the skin!

HOW TO GET RID OF YOUR BLEMISHES/ACNE

By: Vanessa

ACNE, UGH! That terrible word that everyone hates and dreads admitting they have. Now fortunately for me, nowadays my skin issues are pretty minor thanks to all the changes I have made to my skin regime. I would probably rate my skin 9/10 NOW (with up keep) but it wasn’t always like that! I used to suffer from acne in middle school till about first year of high school. When filming “The Latest Buzz” on set, sometimes it would get really bad as I was constantly caking on the makeup and working very long hours (Basically lots of pore clogging). For sensitive and acne prone skin, this just does not work!

I, like most people eventually broke and ended up trying Proactive, which I thought would be the answer to all my prayers…but unfortunately it was not. It worked great for the first three months. Then I found my skin was EXTRA dry and flakey. I would have to put on so much cream to have my skin looking remotely normal…which would also cause my skin to breakout. I felt pretty hopeless. The feeling of when your skin is so bad you become embarrassed and don’t even want to leave the house..yes I have been there….
